Data Privacy 每 automated discovery of cloud resources with Private Information
Recently, it was found that large volumes of private information stored in Amazon S3 (a public
cloud storage service) had world-read privileges. This means anyone could access it. Examples
are personal photos, code with passwords, DBs with personal information. Read more

This project will develop a public tool that anyone can use in order to audit the basic privacy &
security settings of their repositories 每 to start with, the permissions of their files. Examples of
public clouds are Amazon and Azure.
The student will gain expertise in secure public configuration and auditing. Depending on results,
this tool may be offered publicly to anyone who wants to be sure their data is indeed private and
their cloud is configured as expected.
