This is a project to develop an E-commerce site for an auto parts site, pulling data from both an existing site, as well as multiple (15+) vendors for catalog data.
The current site consists of several hundred HTML pages, which is obviously not the way its needs to be built. In addition to the Commerce functionality, we need to organize the site via tags to organize the wealth of informational data contained on the current site. It will be a mostly manual process to pull and format that data into the new site - there is just no other way to do it consistently.
In addition, the data feeds that come from vendors are not at all consistent in their format, or even delivery method. Some are online in PDF, Excel, CSV or other document formats. Some are straight off of websites. Some others come via hardware - DVD or USB stick. A PROCESS needs to be determined as to how this will work. In order to win this job, be prepared to explain how that will function up front.
We have done many projects on Freelancer, so we know the pitfalls of working with less than honest developers. As a result, there will be no money paid in advance of any work being done - don't even ask. We will discuss and agree upon [payment milestones prior to starting, and money will be deposited on Freelancer, so nobody is at any risk. In general, the milestones work like this:
Milestone 1: Alpha functionality, including homepage, store, informational and category pages, payment functionality, and full admin configuration. 20% of total payment
Milestone 2: Beta functionality. Completed site functionality including import of base set of vendors - the first 5. 20% of total
Milestone 3: Conversion of all other vendors. 20% of total.
Miletone 4: System launch to live, support period for bug fixes. 20% of total.
Milestone 5: Completed 2 week support period. 20% final payment.
We can discuss the details of these milestones, but we absolutely will adhere to a schedule, including payments deposited into Freelancer at the start of each phase.
Specification and initial PSD files are attached. Final design files will be provided after job start - several pages are not included here, and we can discuss those as well.

- You said that no payment will be released before starting the project, which is fine and no problem but let's say we have done some work (Milestone 1, which we will define & agree together), then you will release the 1st milestone? Or you're saying that no payment will be released, even if we are done with the milestones?

The data display can be done in two ways....
1.1 Parse the data from the source site and displayed directly on your website.
This usually happens if the feed format is either through and API or XML. A copy of the data can be stored in the database.
1.2 Data is first stored in the database and the site frontend queries the data from the database as opposed to point 1. This usually happens if the data feed is in CSV format.
2 . For where the site will get the Car's details. Details enter by the seller only or site admin will also enter car details from admin end.
3. Will it be only based on US?
4. Do you need Android/iphone/ipad app in this phase?
