Our website offers a comparative rating service where users may enter their state of residence and five criteria about one or more horses they wish to insure and obtain an instant online quote for equine mortality insurance from up to six different companies (a live example of this may be found at [login to view URL]).
The user may then add "Optional Coverages" to their mortality insurance quote on a horse by horse basis. The optional coverages displayed for each horse are dependent upon whether or not that horse meets the eligibility criteria programmed into the rating code for each of the six insurance companies (age, breed, sex, use and value).
The newest of our insurance companies has added a new rating criteria that we have not previously encountered. When some of their "optional coverages" are selected, there is a "minimum premium per horse" requirement. When an optional coverage with a "minimum premium per horse" is selected, this minimum premium replaces the total annual premium for that horse (in the event the total premium for that horse would have been below the "minimum premium per horse"). If the total premium for the horse in question exceeded the "minimum premium per horse" value, then the actual premium is shown in place of the minimum premium.
The "minimum premium per horse" includes the sum total premium of the mortality insurance coverage as well as all of the optional coverages selected for that animal. It is re-calculated each time an optional coverage is added or removed. When it applies, the "minimum premium per horse" must be displayed as a line-item on the proposal web page itself as well as the in the "Quote Summary" which appears on the web page where the optional coverages are selected. When it does not apply, it should not appear.
The code currently in use already contains a minimum premium per horse and a minimum premium per policy requirement, but those minimum premiums are solely dependent upon the insurance company as opposed to the selection of an optional coverage.
Hi there,
I like your really thorough description of the work you need doing (always welcome!). Ideally I'd like a quick look into the php code just to make sure I understand what it's doing, so that I can then refine when you can expect me to have completed the work. It doesn't sound too difficult presently though.
I am British and live in Canada, have excellent written and verbal skills, can be reached by email, in here, or on skype too.
