Convert static website to Wordpress site with custom theme - repost

Convert the static HTML website [login to view URL] to a Wordpress site with a custom theme. This is not a redesign, this is a reimplementation. All art assets are provided. The end result should appear as closely to the original site as possible. Satisfactory completion of this project may lead to future projects to rebuild or redesign this or other sites. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will: Provide a cover letter describing his/her skills Demonstrate fluency in American English with at least 3 writing samples. Show experience designing Wordpress themes with at least 2 examples of live sites currently on the Internet. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: 1) Create a Wordpress theme that maintains the look and feel of the current site as closely as possible. Deviations due to technical limitations are acceptable, but contact me first and discuss them with me. 1.a) The site has a main style sheet and two sub stylesheets for mobile vs. desktop. a Query String parameter selects between the two versions. The parameter is toggled by a link in the upper left corner of the page. The logic for the swapping of the style sheets is in a javascript file linked into the page. This should be discarded and converted a single style sheet that uses CSS media queries to differentiate between mobile and desktop. If you are unfamiliar with CSS media queries, I can instruct you. 1.b) Minimal use of 3rd party javascript libraries. Page code should be minimalist. 2) Create Wordpress pages for each of the existing pages. 2.a) Each page's text should remain as-is. 2.b) The Home page used to have a Twitter widget that has disappeared at some point. Perhaps Twitter changed their API? You will see the code for it in the page. It should be re-enabled. 2.c) The Services page includes sub-links to several pages. The quote-callouts should remain as they are, and the menu on each of the sub-pages should also be maintained. 2.d) Certain "Services" sub-pages display only a "Coming Soon" image. Keep it this way, you're not expected to copy-write for these pages. 2.e) The About Us page should include links to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and G+ profiles, in that order. All icons should use the most minimal version available from the sites (I think LinkedIn has a smaller icon than the one I'm currently using now). 2.f) The Contact page should have the stock photo removed. 3.) Create a Blog page: 3.a) The link should sit between "Services" and "Customers" in menu. 3.b) The article titles should use the bold-blue header with white text in a manner similar to the "About Us" page 3.c) The article author's name and date should appear as a by-line in italic text at the top of the body text, on its own line, two pts larger than the body text. 3.d) The article body should be fully justified, single-spaced paragraphs, double-spacing between paragraphs, no indent on first sentence of the paragraph, using the font-families that the current site specifies (Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Arial). 3.e) The article should include social sharing buttons for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and G+, as a single row, with small, simple icons, on the right-side of the article's title header. See the About Us page for how the "View my profile on LinkedIn" button sits in the title. The sharing icons should just be the minimalist icons for each of the sites. 3.f) Comments on the blog should be disabled. 3.g) The blog page and article pages should have a menu of links to the 5 most recent blog posts in a call-out box on the right side of the page (similar to the beige box on this page: [login to view URL]), and a link to an archive page showing the full history of the blog. 3.h) The blog history page should appear like this page, without the beige callout box: [login to view URL] Each link will be the article title, and each text block below it will be the article body before the "more" break.
