Terminal emulators such as AccuTerm (AccuSoft) , Dynamic Connect (UniVerse - IBM U2), Wintergate (IBM - U2), and others use Sockets and terminal emulation and "other stuff I don't know" to connect to a database (logon), and on the screen have the ability to create hotspots which the mouse recognizes so the user doesn't have to use the keyboard as much. On menu's, the user can mouse click a program line or other menu. Running an application that has embedded hotspot code in the database language when run in a vt100 emulator will not work. I don't know what "they" do to make the hotspots work. you can view my website at [login to view URL] to see what the present screens look like. I want to provide my own telnet client that enables the mouse. I belive that the embedded code that is used in the Pick Basic source code that preceeds what is on the screen is : CHAR(27):]hs;5;' and what goes after the text to shut off the hotspot is : ';':char(128) These terminal codes don't mean anything to me, maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't.
