Convert HTML Site to Joomla

This project is the conversion of an existing website which runs on IIS using HTML and Java Script. The site which was developed originally in Dreamweaver is currently not using a content management system. The objective is to convert the existing site and its content to Joomla to permit easier website content management. The purpose of the site itself is to assist Parents and Teachers in assessing the risks and issues which they may encounter when their children start to make use of the Internet and Mobile technology which is a great part of growing up today. The current structure of the site does not permit easy editing. It is felt that a Joomla solution would allow the necessary Content Management. The successful candidate needs to structure the new site so that it is possible to allow different parts of the site to be updated by different individuals. In particular the intention is to have industry experts update the relevant section of the site to which their expertise applies e.g. the Anti-Virus section would be managed and updated by an Anti-Virus provider, the Firewall section by a Firewall vendor etc. In general provided the look and feel and general layout is adhered to the final deliverable can be modified to suit Joomla i.e. width (provided it is dynamic) does not need to reflect the current fixed width format. Positioning of Adverts and images can be moved provided they continue to be relevant are of broadly similar proportions and remain sympathetic to the user experience. The expectation is that apart from the basic Joomla structure a customized template for the website using the existing logo and color schemes will be provided as part of the deliverable. At present there is no requirement to change the content as part of this project although it is envisaged that the content will be changed when the new Joomla version of the site goes live by the site owners. Any changes which introduces more efficient approaches to managing existing practices and content will be welcomed e.g. the ability to update all pages with Ad content from one location instead of each individual page. Preservation of existing footer detail and automation is desirable e.g. links to parent site and automatic date updating in the copyright field. Summary of deliverables: 1.
