Overview:
A storefront generator enabling a logged in member on paid site to access and create and then publish a storefront that clicks through to an affiliate store. Can be embedded standalone or collected into "Malls."
Design approach and considerations
Created with flash actionscript 3, utilizing drag and drop elements, and communicating via php to store file in MySQL database.
My understanding is that each element will need to be added to the database and reflected in the swf file. This may require the fla to be rewritten with each new item or storedesign. Perhaps the design can have a large list of coded items to allow for growth.
Please refer to Build-a-Beast app, and Ecard .fla, linked from our project center.
Final Item
The published swf will show just the storefront, all formatting options and menus will be gone and just the sized image retained. Not sure how this is done.

Member's Design Process
Logging In
Member is logged in and opens storefront/mall wizard
URL is password protected.
Open/Save/Copy
Member able to access personal storefront/mall files. Possibly saved in the database or locally.
Storefront Design Options:
Load Storefront
Storefronts are loaded via menu system, by category.
Wizard may be based on individual store (fla built around each storefront), or loaded in as menu where storefront can be dragged and dropped from storefront catalog, whatever works.
Adjust Storefront color
Member can adjust the storefront using component ColorPickerPro_AS3 (supplied) or similar advanced color selection component.
A slider to adjust the image's hue would be acceptable.
Not sure if the storefronts need to be layered in order to change color via component, rather than overall hue shift. This is an important consideration which will be designed around and dictate how the storefront images will be created.
Create Store Sign
Member is able to enter text into store's top region to create the store sign. Using JC_TextEditor (supplied) or similar high-function flash text styler. Member can adjust size, placement, color, and will any luck we could apply some styling to give the sign some dimension or other cool features like being lit from behind.
These extra styling features can grow with the system, not required for initial launch.
Drag and Drop elements
Menu can be scrolled through and objects selected to drag onto Storefront. Examples being sales banners, signage, decoration, holiday themes.
Ideally these can be loaded in and changed.
Image Upload
Member can upload from hard drive and then scale images for store windows.
Point to Store
Member is able to navigate to product wizard in new window and retrieve URL to link store to.
Visitor goes to this location when storefront is clicked on.
Publish
Member is able to publish final version as a standalone SWF, which can be added embedded or collected into a scroller thus creating a simulated "Mall".
Image can also be saved as a jpeg version.
Additional Notes:
The thumbnail feature in Build-a-Beast is a great idea, being able to save snaps of the work in progress.
