make wordpress theme IE8 compatible

Hello! I've got a very simple one column wordpress theme which does not work with IE8. It has a css for ie and ie7. I'm sure it will be just a little work to make it compatible to Internet Explorer 8. Note: this template is free and open source and called "minimalia". You can take a look at it before. You will get my optimized version and make it work there. In addition: please also check other browsers. I know it works with Firefox and Chrome.
