The goal of this project is to produce a website which provides a simple mechanism for customers to accurately time sporting races, usually taking the form of a time trial.
urrently these solutions involve specialist equipment, and trained personnel.
This solution allows the user to set up the race online, and then time the race by interacting with the webservices.
The key features are as follows;
• The user buys and configures their race through the web interface,
• The user times the race by interacting with the webservices,
• The race results will then be available to view on the website.
The site will later sell other related products, but will be going live immediately after this work is signed off.
The website will be based on the one developed in “ASP.NET 2.0 Website Programming: Problem - Design ??" Solution?? This solution has been chosen as it is using the latest ASP technology, it implements a multi-tier design, and it is understood by us. The code for this solution is freely downloadable from wrox.com.
Requirements,
1) Modify the code to fulfil the requirements (This is largely cosmetic),
2) Add a new module - raceTimer, (This module esentially manages user data, and races which they have set up, and are running).
3) Add raceTimer webservices, (The physical races will be time by accessing these webservices).
4) Provide regular feedback and suggestions, as issues arise.
This will be the first of a number of similar projects. We are therefore looking for a long term partner. We'd like to see evidence of previous similar work.
Full Spec attached.
