Hi there, Maybe I'm not "The Best" for you project, but following is a brief blurb based on 15 minutes thought on your project, drawing on previous experiences. Feel free to also have a look at my fully completed profile. I am also living in Brisbane. I've had a good read over your project and it sounds like it will draw on many skills that I used for developing a Network Monitoring device, based on Nagios on a Raspberry Pi. I've sketched out a page (I'm happy to share if need be, pictures being worth as many words as they are and all) to get the concepts right and as I see it, there are 4 key parts: * The Linux Appliance (LA) - that is the ultimate target for all the software devloped * The Controlled Network (CN) - The network that is separated from the Internet and also controlled by the LA. * A database, complete with users and access controls, running on the LA, which contains a list of firewall rules, which may be uniquely applied, depending on target host. * A web app running on the LA, to allow a user interface to the DB. This is very much a cursory overview of my thought on this project without further discussion. My aim here is to show you that I've actually given some thought to how this project may be achieved. I'm more than happy to discuss the project in further detail, without expecting a guaranteed selection for the project. (I know you talk of Bash scripts, but they're just glue, I haven't totally ignored your mention of them. Lets discuss)
