My team and I are building a fashion merchandise business for Africa. We are working based on two observations: FIRST is that many individuals in Africa who have the financial means, often have to wait until they travel to Europe, America, etcetera, before they upgrade their personal wardrobes. This group of people may sometimes comprise of fashion conscious teens, other times, working class adults who lay much emphasis on their physical presentation as business builders. Sometimes even asking friends or family members to shop on their behalf, when they go on their own trips abroad. Our SECOND observation is that Asian fashion manufacturing/design is increasingly being incorporated in the business models of many prominent Western fashion retailers. Stores like Forever 21 base their stock off of extremely trendy and affordable designs from China. Having been witness to the launching of the forever 21 chain of stores less than a decade ago, I am confident in saying forever 21 has been the answer to millions of youths\' (on every spectrum of a budget) wardrobe difficulties and dreams, since then. And they continue to be. However, this is the problem I am faced with- having nothing but confidence and speculations to suggest the viability of this business project. Essentially, my team and I will be partnering with many of the burgeoning fashion retail manufacturers and designers in China. Our goal is to produce a plethora of fashion merchandise for the youths and young adults in several African countries. Our medium of sale is online, and so we lay much emphasis on seamless and effective customer experience through our website and mobile-app platforms, efficient payments systems tailored to meet the needs of the African buyers, and quick, efficient shipping from China to our select African countries. We are in the process of raising capital and need to test the viability of this idea to the extent that we can, through research, analysis and planning. Details like our focus market/select countries need to be established through this process, amongst many other aspects. It may help to note that there are a number of Africans on our team who were born and raised in Africa. Myself included. The team is equally comprised of a few Chinese individuals. Our team in making calculated moves in the next few stages of building the business, and this business plan will aid us in doing this. Also, it is extremely useful to have handy when building a campaign for these crowdfunding websites such as kickstarter, so the plan should incorporate this in. these are the primary ways in which we plan to use the plan.
