Study objective 1: To determine the fives scenarios for TCP and UDP protocols using ns2 simulator

Study objective 2: To know the maximum number of nodes in every scenario that effect the performance of the network?

Study objective 3: To analyze the performance of the network when the number of nodes connected to the WiMAX increase.

Study objective 4: To study the performance of the network based on the output of the simulator through the following parameters: delay, jitter, and throughput.

1.4 Scope:

The project s is simulate the network with IEEE 802.16, and analyzing the performance of IEEE 802.16 using TCP and UDP protocols in ns2 simulator. The parameters are: delay, jitter and throughput. The network topology will be ring topology in five scenarios:

• Scenario one:

Using one Router, one Base Station and 100 nodes.

• Scenario two:

Using one Router, one Base Station and 150 nodes.

• Scenario three:

Using one Router, one Base Station and 200 nodes.

• Scenario four:

Using one Router, one Base Station and 250 nodes.

• Scenario five:

Using one Router, one Base Station and 300 nodes.
