Hey, I've been an email strategist for 10 years now! Recently, I implemented a MailChimp automated workflow strategy based on the customer's experience and historical engagement. The goal was to grow our email database from 40,000 to 60,000 subscribers in 120 days, we didn't reach 60K, but did manage to get to 57.9K subscribers by the deadline, which was fine for us. How did we do this?
Well, it started off by understanding what emails need to consistently deploy with value-added content (newsletters, reports, announcements) from there, I tracked the subscriber journey and touchpoints to understand how often and when subscribers likely engage with our brand. Then, I set up the email workflow with automated triggers to upsell other products/services and also automate informal emails. This email strategy increased our engagement 10% YOY, and also increase revenue of 3% in that same time. This is huge for us because it's totally automated which gives me more time to make strategic decisions and also free's up more time to create content, which is what's needed to increase email engagement. I like taking a risk and being creative, so implementing Giphys, surveys and other interactive content was also a huge help for increasing the engagement.
This is a super tedious digital marketing effort I'm very familiar with, and hopefully we'll talk soon to discuss our next steps for this project. I'm super excited!
