Website & Web Application For A Car Rental Business

This is a project for a website and a web application that will be used to manage a car rental business (i.e. renting cars) We will provide you with the website template/graphics and you will be responsible to: - Create any needed web applications using PHP as the primary server side scripting language and MySQL as the DB - Create any needed DB designs - Integrate your code with the provided website template/graphics - Document everything and provide a comprehensive user guide on how to deploy the application onto our server The suggested technologies are PHP, HTML, Javascript and MySQL but if you think that you can deliver the needed project using some other technologies then please suggest some other technology stack? The high level requirements would be: ------------------------------------------------- System users are: ----------------------- 1- Admins: Employees working in the car rental company 2- Users: End users who want to rent cars Use Cases: -------------- 0- Register new online user (for users oly) 1- Login, Logout, Forgot Password and Change Password (for both admins and users) 2- Form to enter customer information (for both admins and users) 3- Form to enter vehicle information plus the renting rates (for admins only) 4- View that shows the available vehicles and hence be able to book a vehicle during a specific duration to a specific customer (i.e. book the Ford Mustang vehicle with id 476 to the customer called John in the duration from 1-May-2014 to 30-May-2014) (for both admins and users in case the user will need to book the vehicle online) 5- A view that shows the status of a specific car (i.e. free in which durations and booked to which customer in which durations) (for admins only) 6- Can mark a specific vehicle as temporary not available to be booked (for admins only) 7- Can mark for each car when it should go to maintenance (for admins only) 8- Generate invoices for the booked cars - Daily/Monthly/Half-Yearly or Yearly (for admins only) 9- Can add expenses related to each vehicle (for admins only) 10- Can add fines information related to each vehicle (for admins only) 11- Reports (all reports should be filtered by date, Vehicle, status and/or customer) Report 1: Information about vehicles including which durations the vehicles where booked and which durations the vehicles where free Report 2: Information about expenses for each vehicle, including maintenance and fines (can be grouped into one report with report 1) Report 3: Information about customers to be able to decide on the renting trend for a customer or a group of customers 12- Alerts, the system will send automatic alerts to the admins for the following cases (alerts can be checked by accessing a specific page on the website or by sending them by email to the admins): Alert 1: When the maintenance for a specific vehicle is due Alert 2: When the rental of a specific vehicle is due (for this alert we can send the alert by email to the customer as well) The project will be done in the following phases: Phase 1: Agree on the workflow of the different pages plus we provide you with the website template that you will be using Phase 2: Agree on the MySQL DB design Phase 3: 50% of the features Phase 4: 50% of the features Phase 5: Handover which includes the final package to be deployed and the full deployment steps to deploy the application ourselves on our server Phase 6: Testing and bug fixing in case of issues Finally please note that we need to have a smart web application that can group as many features in the least number of pages because the budget for this project is not huge, if you have any questions in order to provide an accurate estimate please let me know?
