Hello, I am definitely the right person for this job! I'm a Ph.D. Organic Chemist (USC, 2002) and I spent six years on the research faculty at Ga Tech. I have >30 granted patents and published scholarly papers in top chemistry journals. I have lots of experience with cosmetics / personal care products / formulations. I'm very active in the cosmetic industry and have extensive experience sourcing all-natural, organic, responsible ingredients whenever possible. I lead you through the entire process - defining properties and aesthetics that you'd like to see in the products, writing a formulation, finding you manufacturers if needed and acting as your representative with them if necessary, writing safety documents, helping you with regulations, and I can even prepare small test batches for you if necessary. I usually charge by the hour, although I keep records down to the second and you will always approve in advance any hours that are spent. That way you always know what you're paying. I'll send frequent updates, so you always know where we are in the project. I charge $25 an hour for chemical consulting, and most formulations take about 4 hours of work to finish the complete write-up. Making small batches of a formulation, if you desire, also take about 4 hours of work if you ship all of the ingredients to me (I can recommend vendors if you need).
