Richard Hurley has developed a highly regarded Black Keys Exercises designed to introduce the world of the keyboard to the most challenging of special need students. Based in Austin Texas, a city that is a hub of special needs innovation, Hurley Piano has drawn upon the expertise of the city's leading special needs researchers to test & challenge this methodology.
Purpose of Position:
We are looking for someone to help increase efficiency & organization along with helping to expand our current operating environment. The administrative assistant will help establish an improved method of operating while helping to bring on new clients & partners. This person will be responsible for minimizing any problems that come up.
Job Description:
Hurley Piano is currently hiring for a part-time administrative assistant to help with intermediate duties. This is not a beginning or entry level position; anyone applying must have prior experience with managing client files, schedules, & attracting new customers. The position will act as a virtual assistant with weekly in-person meetings or as-needed meetings. The potential candidate will need to be self-reliant, very disciplined in work style, & a natural self-starter as this position will not be in any physical office environment.
The duties of this position include, but not limited to:
• Facilitating communication with current & new clients on phone/email
• Arranging & Scheduling events using an online calendar system
• Contacting potential clients & partners & establishing relationships
• Set up meetings with clients in various parts of Austin
• Attend weekly in-person meetings
• Posting online content – jobs, blogs, ads, updates, & more
• Provide creative insight on how to improve
• Screening potential instructors for the music program
• Sign up for events that relate to the company’s mission goals
The administrative assistant will need to have their own computer to work from as well as phone in order to conduct business. The potential for an as-needed office space is available depending on the growth & demand of this position. The person taking on this position will help determine if the need for an office is required. In addition to the duties the potential employee also needs to possess the following skills.
Qualifications:
• Intermediate to advanced user of all Google Doc programs
• Intermediate to advanced user of standard Microsoft Office Programs
• Experience working in some office related capacity
• Intermediate to Advanced level on both Mac & PC environments
• Able to navigate easily online with various browsers
• Able to troubleshoot minor computer related issues
• Can manage several projects at the same time in relation to deadlines with no problems
• Excellent communication & people skills – you will be talking on the phone a lot along with in-person events
• Excellent organization skills, including online management of files, schedules, and desktop organization
• Third or last year of college in any of the following areas, business, music, communication, liberal arts, or education
• A strong people person who is familiar with many events in Austin that relate to business and music & technology
Education Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled at least part-time in an accredited university. Bilingual speakers encouraged to apply.
Hours/Pay:
The position is currently for 5 hours a week at $15 an hour.
