Colton Strawser Consulting hires consultants to assist in providing services in our four service areas: Nonprofit Organization Development, Foundation Management Services, Education Consulting, Communications & Events, and Professional Development & Continuing Education. Project Consultants are required to have expertise in one or more of these areas, while Project Assistants are required to have working knowledge in one or more of these areas. Interns are expected to have an interest and/or emerging knowledge in one of our consulting concentrations.
Essential Functions
Utilize Colton Strawser Consulting’s online project management system (Asana) to be aware of upcoming deadlines and project assignments
Communicate with the President of Colton Strawser Consulting regarding project assignments, expectations, and deadlines
Develop written reports and prepare presentations
Manage projects and tasks to ensure one-time/in-budget project completion
Assist with proposal and business development opportunities
Establish a maintain relationships with clients and nonprofit leaders
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Philanthropic Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Political Science/Law, or Education
Three to five years of experience in nonprofit management, social services, economic development, project management, and/or research is preferred
Skills and Ability
Be able to deconstruct large complex projects into manageable tasks
Think creatively about solutions to client and company issues
Be skilled in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), Project Management Software (Asana and Slack), Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Gmail), and other online program and platforms
Work well independently, and as a team, with little oversight
Possess an eye for detail ensuring that all written communication is grammatically correct and error free
