What is Your Travel Anthem?
Music plays a vital role in our lives especially for travelers to fight boredom in long hours of travel. It adds enjoyment to the journey and sometimes give you the feels and set the right mood.
I’m personally into a lot of genres like pop, soul, alternative, rock and sometimes even classics like easy listening and jazz. But it will always be the singer-songwriter with acoustic and folk flavors that I first fell in love with. Bands and soloists that create their own music most of the time are the ones that interpret what the message really is. Coldplay, The Fray, Snow Patrol are just some of my favorites.
Lyrics like, ‘If I lay here, of I just lay here, Would you lay with me, and just forget the world…’ or ‘Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, I will try to fix you,’ always get right to the heart. The feels, the right feels that we needed just once in a while.
I’m a jolly fella but man, I’m really into the not so happy songs and lyrics. The singer-songwriters that I admire all wrote love songs that mostly on the sad side. Again I reiterate that I’m not depressed.
John Mayer, John Legend, James Bay, Jeff Buckley, Jack Johnson, and James Blunt are just some artist that I listen to, a lot. Aside from these guys that name starts with ‘J’, unintentionally, i also listen to Vance Joy, Kodaline, Sam Smith, Troye Sivan, Labrynth, Passenger, and Zayn. These artists are really true to their music and most of them has this rawness to it that I like. (Raise your hands of you do too! )

This list is just a slice of my ear candies but certainly pull some chords and heartstrings. Let me know in the comments what other singer-songwriter tunes you listen to so I can add them up in my playlist or what other genres entertain you to have eargasms during a long flight, a long drive, or a long sail.
Music is definitely one of the things that make the world go round as it keeps our heart beat, in a rythm. It will pump you up or simply just be there with you to sing all those feelings all out, make you feel better and be hyped for the adventure ahead.
