Please note: Completion of a test is required for consideration of this position. We pay a nominal fee for the test which will be added to your first project payment when you join our team.

Dr. Davies runs a successful professional writing service and is looking for perfectionists with quality control and editing and proofreading experience. You will be required to quality control (QC) various types of documents: academic, dossiers, whitepapers, articles, etc. Strong comprehension skills are of the highest priority.

The QC performs four primary tasks when reviewing work:

1. Ensure that the work is plagiarism-free.

2. Assess a written project to ensure that it complies with all requirements within the brief/job description. Of particular importance is to ensure that the content is concise and logical, as well as in agreement and complete fulfillment with the project guidelines.

3 Submit an error-free paper. This entails proofreading to ensure there is correct syntax, grammar, and spelling. If work is particularly shoddy, we do not expect you to do all corrections, but to send the work back to the writer for them to proofread and amend accordingly.

4. To edit for clarity, flow, and overall improvement.

Additional skills required include:

 Exceptional comprehension skills – a piece of work can have perfect grammar, but if it doesn’t fit the client brief it is of no use.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills –you will be required to collaborate and work closely with other members of the team, as the QC interacts frequently with the writer, providing constructive comments for work improvement.

 Detail-orientated with the ability to adhere to job descriptions and follow instructions.

 Referencing skills – the work is mostly evidence-based.

 Reliability – we need projects completed on time to ensure we provide a high quality of service to our customers.

The QC is ultimately responsible for the quality of the end product. This may require revisions by the writer and a project is not considered complete until the QC is completely satisfied that the writer has achieved this objective.

The pay is based on the final word count of the project and ranges between £6 ($8) and £9 ($11) per 1000 words, depending on the skill of the writer and the amount of time and editing required. The fee stated for this project ($5) is the test fee, but all other work will be paid by wordcount.

Please check our feedback, which shows us to be a well-based, reliable client. We are a friendly team and look forward to welcoming you.
