I am a native English speaker who was born in England. I have a degree in English and a post-graduate diploma in Psychology and Education for Special Needs. I recently gained a certificate in proofreading and copy editing from The Writers Bureau, Manchester. I currently work as a Special Educational Needs Casework Officer for a local council here in England. I read widely and have a natural love and flair for words. I enjoy writing as much as I do reading, which is handy, as all my working life, my jobs have included a healthy degree of report writing. My writing skills caught the eye of a colleague of mine, and I now proofread and re-write her undergraduate essays and projects. To successfully complete your project, I will employ 3 stages in approaching it: Stage 1 Which will involve reading it as I would a book I bought, just to get to know the text. If I spot an obvious error, I will mark it, but not analyse it in too much detail, at this stage. This will help me in getting to 'know' the book, and understand if you have any preferred spellings of words (such as 'ise' or 'ize'. Stage 2 I will read the book again, this time scrutinizing the text more closely, using a ruler to assess each line one at a time, annotating in the text and the margins, all the amendments required. Stage 3 The third reading will see me checking the numbers and any cross-referencing, and whether pages and chapters are numbered sequentially. Please contact me if you wish to discuss further.
