The [login to view URL] website will be a comprehensive travel portal primarily targeted at leisure travellers, although it will need to cater for business travellers as well. We would like the website to feature ‘dynamic packaging’ whereby the user can choose their flight, hotel, car hire – or a combination of all three. The longer term aim of the website will be to compete with market leaders such as Expedia, Travel Supermarket and Lastminute.com. We have a web design and marketing company who will be building, hosting and marketing the website, but they do not offer xml integration. Therefore, we need a supplier to take the ‘built’ site and integrate xml feeds from a number of different sources. The design of the site so far can be seen at [login to view URL] We envisage the latest offers, holiday types, the 5 panels (Dubai, Paris, Venice, Romantic Breaks and Kids Go Free) at the bottom and the main search feature to be powered by xml feeds. The ‘Top Destinations’ will be manually controlled by ourselves. We have xml feeds ready from [login to view URL] and [login to view URL], however, we are open to any suggestions that suppliers may have. KEY FEATURES 1) Holiday Search Facility This should allow users to search for a hotel, car hire, flight, or a combination of the three. The exact search criteria will be based on the xml feed, but should include arrival / departure date (+ / - 3 days, 7 days or 14 days would be a useful feature), plus the number of adult / child travellers. 2) Flight Search Facility We’d like something similar to [login to view URL], but do not yet have any contracts in place with a single flight xml feed. 3) Hotel Search We’d like to use [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] – but both would be preferable, with the best rates being returned to the user. 4) Cruise & Car Hire Search Consolidators currently being research and this can follow at a later date if needs be. 5) Latest Offers It would be good if this could be segmented into ‘Hotel Offers’, ‘Flight Offers’, ‘Cruise Offers’, etc. 6) Holiday Type Search (Left Hand Panel) This should be driven by the xml feed from [login to view URL] XML feeds and integration guides can be provided from Hotel Connect and Hotels Combined, following a shortlist of preferred suppliers based on quotes received.
