WP-Postratings - ratings erase and stars lock everytime I update blog post. Need to fix.

I installed WP-Postratings plugin and it works good for google rich snippets. However, every time I edit a post the ratings that existed are erased and the stars lock-up, so it will not function after that. I would like to fix, so the stars and snippets work through blog post updates.
