You mentioned eCommerce and payment gateways- eCommerece is great and often people look at eCommerce as just a means to sell something how ever it goes much deeper then that we recently worked on a project where instead of the ability to just post a product they wanted a smart grid system where it would recognize your behavioral pattern kinda like Amazon recognizes what you are looking at and recommends you for certain products and then it would use that information to generate SEO (back links, hyper links, content etc...) in order to reach targeted groups for certain individuals within that area....Rural customer will have different needs then non Rural customers and so forth. Now the platforms that you mentioned (PC, Mobiles, Tablets etc...) can actually be combined in one major responsive Cloud/Web platform and optimized/exported to various platforms natively if needed there is a method and reason for this madness for which I will require allot more space then this window to elaborate.
