Hello. I have taken a look at those two donation pages you gave a link to. Wordpress does make it easier and you could even go so far as to using a Wordpress shopping card plugin if you want to cover various payment methods. Just one question: Do you want to accept monthly donations as well? That makes it a bit tricky, but something like a PayPal subscription should be the way to go. I know you need to be secure. I am educated in wordpress, website and server security. All my sites and blogs are secured vey well. I plan to use a plugin (secure and tested) and will do a donation page as you will require. I would check the whole wordpress security and (if you want) make security change that will be best for you.
