Create new CSS for my new layout - wordpress blog

Hi, i have got a blog based on wordpress, and i want a new layout. you should change the CSS-file. I do not want (m)any chanches in the themes-files because i dont want any problems. Of course there might be a new div, rename some ID?s ... but you should word with the existing. Ihe theme now has some backgrounds, you shound change them and change the distances. That?s all;-) I will give you a screenshot of the new layout with the distances, and show you the old layout.
