I have written a manuscript that I would like to achieve a book contract for. I do not want to solicit any book publishing companies but instead, properly submit my manuscript, such as letter of interest, submitting the manuscript, follow-ups, until completion.
I do not have any experience in this area, so I am looking for a provider whom does. In which, their previous experience involves working for someone who they actually got a "book contract" for.
While bidding, I will be looking for:
Experience- examples of past work, references if any
Price- reasonable bid (may be broken up into milestones, until a book contract is obtained)
How long this process may take and explain why
-Any other relevant information that may be important.
*Will only accept bids from experienced bidders.
Congratulations on your first book! I am trying to write myself and I have done detailed research of publishing process hoping I will need this information once I finish my novel.
You are right - soliciting publishers is not an option. If you select me for this job, I will need following information:
1. Book Title, number of pages and genre
2. One-paragraph description of your book.
3. Your short biography
This information will allow me to select few (not more than five) matching agents for you and this is critical point of this research. I will prepare cover letters which you will send to the selected agents. You will also be advised about book printing and presenting. You can expect agent response, hopefully followed by a contract, in two months.
I can prepare above information and letters by mid next week. You can release milestone payment then, and the rest of the payment once you sign a contract. I wish you all the best!
