Coding and verification of HTML emails

For our web services, we require e-mails sent to our customers be created as HTML e-mails. We provide a design mockup indicating how we would like the e-mail to be displayed. The product deliverables should not only contain the HTML source code, but also a Ruby on Rails integration creating such an e-mail, including a plain-text alternative. Such HTML e-mails need to be displayed correctly in various e-mail clients as well as webmail providers. ## Deliverables Our web application is sending different types of e-mails to our customers. Each e-mail usually contains some links and descriptive information, which we now want to enhance by using HTML formatting and adding images. We are going to provide a design mockup for such e-mail (we currently need one e-mail to be converted into HTML). Since our application is running on Rails 1.2.3, we also need a corresponding implementation that we can use to connect to our platform. We do not need a controller invoking such mail module, it is sufficient that we receive an implementation of the mailer model. A plain text alternative is required for each e-mail. All e-mail need to be displayed correctly using various e-mail clients (e.g. Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Entourage, SeaMonkey, AppleMail) as well as webmail services (e.g. Hotmail, Yahoo, GMX, [login to view URL], Live, AOL, GoogleMail).
