This is a project that uses the Corona SDK to build iPhone, iPad, and Android app. You can read more about the Corona SDK here: [login to view URL] Corona is a very powerful development environment that allows you to build iPhone, iPad, and Android apps using the "lua" programming language. It's a "write once, build anywhere" sort of environment. For this project, you just need to get the project working in the Corona simulator. You do NOT need to test the project on an iPhone or Android phone. I will do that, and let you know if any adjustments need to be made. You do NOT have to submit anything to the various app stores. Just get the app working in the Corona simulator using the free version of Corona available on the [login to view URL] website. You may need to create a free account on the [login to view URL] website, but you do NOT have to purchase anything! I would like you to *clone* this app using Corona: [login to view URL] ## Deliverables This is a project that uses the Corona SDK to build iPhone, iPad, and Android app. You can read more about the Corona SDK here: [login to view URL] Corona is a very powerful development environment that allows you to build iPhone, iPad, and Android apps using the "lua" programming language. You may need to create a free account on the [login to view URL] website, but you do NOT have to purchase anything! I would like you to *clone* this app using Corona: [login to view URL] By "clone" I mean that the app should work exactly as it does currently, using the same images, audio, interface, flow, etc. EXCEPT for the following: 1) You should not clone bugs! If there is a bug or crash in the app that is being cloned, obviously that bug should not exist in the Corona version. 2) The app should function correctly in all device types available in the Corona simulator (iPad, iPhone, Android). Thus, you should test in all of the environments that are available in the Corona simulator (but again, you do NOT have to test on actual devices). 3) You should change the name and credits to the name and credits that I will provide to you. Thus, you should not use the name or credits seen in the app. 4) If there is a feature in the app that is impossible with Corona (since Corona does have a few minor limitations), please find a suitable work-around for the feature, or remove the feature and make appropriate accomodations in the app so that the app still looks good and functions well. I do not believe that there are any such features, though. 5) You should be willing to make "small adjustments" to the app based on my feedback. For example, if I want to change some text in the interface, or make some color adjustments, etc... these to me are fairly trivial changes that wouldn't require more than a few minutes of your time, which you should not charge me for. If there are significant changes or improvements, I will provide suitable $ bonuses for the extra work. 6) Use as few external images as possible for the user interface... buttons, for example, should be built-in widgets or "drawn" so that they scale appropriately. My goal is to make buttons and other UI elements high-resolution even when displayed on an iPad 3. This also helps to reduce the overall KB size of the app. Of course, sometimes you just have to use an image, which is fine. If you do need to use images for some parts of the user interface, please use high-resolution versions so that they look good on the iPad 3 retina display. Don't use low-quality images just for the sake of keeping the app KB size small. This particular app (mad libs) has a lot of images that are highly customized. You may use them for development (i.e., just copy them from the app). I will substitute my own images later. In other words, just use "dummy" images for development. 7) As much as possible, user interface text (i.e., not text pulled from an sqlite database, if there is one), should be kept in .lua variables, so that I can easily edit them as needed. 8) IMPORTANT: I will be using my own sqlite database for this project. So, what you should do is ensure that my own database can be used for the mad-libs, because obviously there are copyright issues with the mad libs content. I would be interested in supporting in-app purchases so that the user can unlock more mad libs. A few things that you can IGNORE (may be removed from the Corona app): - Advertisements. I don't know if the app shows ads at any point, but if it does, adds should be removed. I plan to sell the app for $0.99 to make money. I personally hate to see ads on apps. - Multi-language support. If the app has been translated to other languages, you may ignore the other languages. I am only interested in creating an English-language version of this app. IMAGES AND AUDIO: Obviously, there is a big copyright concern with the images and audio (not so much with the app functionality, since the functionality is already duplicated in many other apps). For purposes of *development*, you should use the images and audio from the Android Market app. Before I submit this app to the Android Market, I will create my own images and audio to avoid copyright issues. You should, therefore, ensure that it is easy for me to just "drop in" new images and audio of similar dimensions (and named the same of course). I think that for development purposes, it's OK to use the images and audio files, but if you believe otherwise, please let me know before starting the project so that we can resolve any potential copyright concerns. ADDENDA: I will VERY likely have many future upgrades for this app, so I think that we could potentially have a long term relationship of buyer/developer if you're interested!
