We need an application that will be installed to run on a machine and hidden, doesn't need to be invisable as the users will know it is there, that monitors when a computer is active, key storkes or mouse movement and when it has been idle for more then a configurable number of minutes (via reg key) it logs the stop and start times, then at the end of each day and each week, it sends an email listing the total amount of time that the computer was in use for the day/week. IF it could also monitor the amount of time that each office application was running and/or the list of websites that they visited in IE that would be a plus, but not required.
## Deliverables
This application will be run on Windows Vista and could be a service, but is not required, it does not need a UI, just a way to have it started up whenever the computer is on and the options configurable for the times it send messages, what email the messages go to, the server info for the email server and the number of minutes of idle time, before it logs the users as idle. The email should be neatly formatted with start and stop times for each session and total of hours/min for each session and the day/week. If there is an install program that asks for these options and writes them to the registry this would be optimal. I beleive that the only thing that will show the user is there, is the mouse or keyboard and that these users will not be able to get around that. The program also needs to use as little resources as possible as to not effect the performance of the machine.
