I have an application that uses a local Access database that is password protected. User want to upgrade from Access to SQL Server and want the data previously stored in Access transferred to the SQL Server system.
This utility must be written in Visual Basic. It should do the following.
The user interface should have controls for the following:
1. Textbox containing the location of Access database. There should be a button next to the textbox that calls the filedialog and allows the user to navigate to select the appropriate file.
2. Textbox for name of SQL Server
3. Textbox for username of the SA
4. Textbox for the password of the SA user
5. Button labled "Migrate" which will kick off the following process:
A. check to see if the application can resolve the database and log into it using the supplied username and password. Any errors or failures in this process should be comminicated back to the user.
B. Open the Access database using a password hardcoded into the application.
C. A status windows at the bottom of the application should change status in the following manner.
If Step A succeeds, it should indicate "Successfully connected to SQL Server".
During step C is should say "Transferring data"
The winning bidder will be supplied with the access database.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
