Add Mod_Rewrite to foum

I want mod_rewrite added to my forum at [login to view URL] this is for SEO purposes meaning I don't want any of that extra stuff at the ends of the .php file i want it to show up as .html or .htm file. I want the title of each topic to be the "Topic Subject" and the index of the forum should have a title of Webmaster Forum - Web development made easy and then each subforum's title should just be the forum's title and the description for example "Scripts - Post all scripts here, describe what each one does, and discuss the scripts". Please explain in detail what you will do... Note that nothing should change on the site except what I stated, like i have adsense ads made to come after each 1st post and every tenth, dont screw anything...explain what you will do and tell me if you have ever had experience with SEOing a forum or something similiar to this, if you have examples of what you will do post them....
