Please advise us how to implement the following.

Below, are some general ideas, please advise us and in more detail exactly how to go about this.

**?

****GENERAL OBJECTIVE**

1. We run a school and as part of a course requirement, we need to train our students how to search the internet, but without actual internet access.

2. We will be copying chosen websites using a webcopier software (e.g. surfoffline, HTTrack etc) to a local drive on a computer with no internet connection.

3. We want to simulate the search engine experience by giving the user an interface similar to google that will run in Internet Explorer and search the locally saved websites (websites will contain mostly static pages.)

4. Thus we seek a small piece of software that will do the job.

? **ADDITIONAL DETAILS**

1. Very basic user interface design to make it look like a search engine home page (the design does not have to be original but may be copied from existing search engines).

? **IMPLEMENTATION IDEAS**

1. In house software program written for us. Preferably make use of pre-existing code modules, to save time and cost.

2. Piggy-back onto a desktop search program (e.g. google desktop) but find a way to mask it (either through a separate browser that passes google desktop the text being searched for and receives back the search results.)

3. A third but unlikely alternative is to find a pre-existing software that does this already (freeware or commercial).
