Here is description of the job i have accomplished recently (implemented with PHP, MySQL and Smarty): "Script that searches a given set of rss feeds (10 of them) and spiders those feeds based on a certain query. That query can be something like: Search and retrieve all feed items that in one specific tag mention the word EXAMPLE or a combination of words (e.g. 'EXAMPLE or EXAMPLE NOW'). It is possible that the search query first needs some (automatic) tweaking, for example the removal of punctuation, capitals, etcetera. The rss feed tags that the script needs to search through differs for each feed. The results, including the retrieved tag, title, contents and right url need to be retrieved and stored locally in a MySQL database. Results should then be displayed based on recency. If you could add that functionality and make the calling of the script automatically, based on one user input query that would be perfect." If you're interested in seeing a demo and documentation of the accomplished work, please let me know.
