This is a simple search application on BlackBerry device, to search and find contact information (name, surname, [url removed, login to view]) saved on XML file. I need a Java Application that can execute on BlackBerry, that will read a simple XML file (which will be stored locally) and perform the following actions on that XML:
* Search for specific users based on their surname or telephone number (similar to searching *search_string*)
* Browse users by pressing on their initial letter and then showing the results (similar to searching search_string*)
## Deliverables
This JAVA Application is simple. Just read the XML into the memory (or on demand), and perform searches on the XML and then present the results on the screen.
We need BlackBerry 8310 compatibility, so the best thing to use is BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1 or if you are experienced with Eclipse, please use the plug-in.
The user should have two buttons:
1. Search
2. Browse
If he presses the Search Button, a dialog box opens and requests a search string. This search string is applied into the XML data and results are returned (surname and/or telephone number).
If he presses the Browse Button, a list of the alphabet is shown, and the user can press a letter (say A), and all XML information should be presented that the surname begins with A.
