Automatic setup file replacement procedure

Problem description:

We created a setup procedure for a Windows application. This will be downloadable from Internet.? One component has to be changed dynamically depending on? the calling parameter.? ?

One file has to be different in the setup package on every callers ID.

Example calling with parameter <websitename>/download/?ID=345

should point to a setup containing the file [url removed, login to view]

with? <websitename>/download/?ID=999 will allow download of a setup containing file special999.dat.

Possible solutions:

All setups prepared on webserver but generated with an automated script that "exchanges" the (compressed) file automatically by calling? another script. (must run on standard providers? linux Server)? ?

Setup reconfigured on calling site

Other ideas?

We have to assure that if the download is called with a parameter the right setup procedure is provided. In addition we automatically generate the files [url removed, login to view] with another process using a php script.
