**Brand and Product Development** A new startup company requires graphic design & marketing skills to work on our brand and product development. **Objectives *** To develop the brand of a company entering the leisure/gaming industry to the satisfaction of the client. The company will want a brand that captures the underlying sense of fun of the brand and the product. * To develop the graphics and marketing work associated with the product. This will include design of security certificates, brochures, information booklets and retail packaging and aligning with the brand development. ## Deliverables **Consultation ** Inititally, and this may be pre-bid but subject to an Non Disclosure Agreement, there will be a consulation between client and bidders to discuss the following • What’s the goal of the project? • What is the target market? • What does the market want? • How does the offering match what they want? • Who are the major competitors? • How will we measure our success? • What’s your preferred final delivery date for the project? As a result of this consulation the company will deliver a project brief and any high level requirements. **Brand Development** **Strategy:** To work alongside the company to learn about the market and how to connect with them to assist in the development of the brand. **Idea Development:** Several ideas should be proposed to allow the client to solve the problem. If none of these ideas match the clients needs, then further idea development will be required. **Idea refinement:** Once an idea has been selected, then that idea should be perfected. The whole process could include business naming, building a marketable brand, graphic design, tagline development. The company will provide information required on positioning, competitior analysis, marketing plans and strategy development. **Product Development **The product is based upon printable material (similar to a gift experience voucher) and therefore Product Development will involve creating the design of all printable material. It will require a distinctive design and marketing savvy look which will be part of the strategy, it must appeal to the audience and achieve results. There is expected to be up to 20 types of products and each product will include a security certificate, product information book, company brochure and will require retail packaging. The design needs to be consistent across all of the products and align with the developed brand. Below is an example of a Red Letter Days Gift Pack, the product will be fairly similar in requirements to this pack. However the gift voucher will be at the heart of the product and therefore will require innovative design and is expected to be proudly displayed on a wall, or side table. There will be a dependency on some photographic images and these may need to be sourced, the internet should provide an adequate source. ![][1] ** Website Development **The client wants: "We want our website to be unique. We want it to be clean and smart and easy to update. We want it to appeal to our customer and fit in with the brand and product development." If possible this should be as part of the project brief. If required the site can be independently developed but image work would still be required. • brand-building design for the website • easy-to-use navigation • accessibility that meets standards • fast download times • search engine optimization • easy integration of any required back-end databases and other tools. In particular this will include order processing and payment. **What is Expected? ** • A strong portfolio with memorably imagery • A strong sense of marketing. The designer should be able to clearly articulate the goal of each piece and how it reached its audience. Good design communicates and motivates; it does not merely decorate. The designer should be able to tell how their work will translate into high sales figures and lead to strong benefits for the company • Excellent business skills, staying on top of all details of the project and as it is a fixed cost contract, making the best use of time and money and being able to deliver to the satisfaction of the client. • Formal graphic design skills are an advantage • Personable and professional demeanour. This is a fun project and we want to work with someone who will enjoy being our partner and wants to provide a professional service. If the brand and product is a success, it will lead to further work. Technical skills are an advantage but not necessary if the designer is the best fit to the other requirements. All development must be completed against agreed estimates with regular updates. Deadlines must be stuck to and communicate any problems. The contract will be a fixed cost contract and must be completed to the total sataisfaction of the client. There will be no billable hours. All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. **Summary **This is a fun project and will require a great partnership that is capable of working on a flexible project with fixed resources. You will be taking an idea and providing it with the design required to make it marketable. As part of that development work it will be necessary to enable the client to achieve his requirements. If the product is a success it could lead to signifcantly more work which would not be tendered. ## Platform Website Development will be hosted on a managed server
