bulk email options

Dear Coders, I need some help to locate a suitable free bulk email application with a proven track record of performance and reliability. If it had autoresponder capabilities that would be ideal. If it had inbuilt templates, that would be even better. It must be CAN-SPAM compliant and have the ability to handle email bounces, auto-unsubscribe etc. It must also be able to produce suitable reports about deliveries, bounces etc. Mail delivery is paramount, so I believe that the use of a public SMTP server will enhance this - please advise me if I am wrong. It will allow list importation from a range of sources like outlook and csv for example. It will also need to have the abilty to import a range of templates (e.g. newsletters) that I'll have designed with the capacity to merge and customise each template with user information (like name and email). So, I'll supply a directory of templates, and these can be easily imported and used. Effectively, I will reccomend this to my clients for use with their lists, and provide templates and instructions as to how best to use it. If you can know of a suitable application, please bid. It must do all of the above and be simple and intuitive to use. I've seen SendBlaster - that's great but it's not free. Inwise was a little clunky and quite slow. It might be a good idea to provide me with the best options and reason why...
