Script 1 AppleScript solution that will accomplish: 1. Convert QuickTime Movie (.mov) (exported from Final Cut Pro HD 4.5) to DV Stream (.dv) by scripting Mac OS X 10.3's QuickTime Player (Pro) to do the conversion. Any .mov sample file should serve as suitable test file. 2. Work as droplet or/and executable 3. Handle single files or folder of files 4. Output files to be placed in same directory, but source files deleted. Should be written in AppleScript for Mac OS X. QuickTime Player is fully scriptable. The convert/export command sets are available in Script Editor->Dictionaries->QuickTime Player. Also: [url removed, login to view] I have attached scripts that seem to be written to accomplish much of this, one standard and one folder action script. I am using to script Transmit ([url removed, login to view]) to FTP the files from that directory to a server. I have attached those files. They need to be appended to the end of the script to that the upload occurs after the files are converted. Script 2 The above process describes files to be UPLOADED to a server. Another part of the workflow involves download by FTP, again with Transmit, to copy files to local volumes, BUT these files arrive w/ generic icons and NO extensions. Once “.dv?? is added, Final Cut can open them. I would like it to be combined with the download FTP script so the suffix “just happens?? for the end user. Summary of workflow Should be as follows: user exports a QT movie from Final Cut Pro to a folder. The user double-clicks on executable which will convert the files, remove source file, and by combining with FTP scripts (attached) upload the file to the server. ALSO, users can initiate a download FTP from server, using Transmit to drag a file to a folder. This folder could be a folder action folder which adds ".dv" to any files in the folder, but does not add ".dv" to a file that already it.
