Project overview: Automated machine that cuts material. Material is clamped to a moving table and fed into a stationary rotating blade similar to a table saw. Table feed rate varies based on blade RPM. The objective of this program is to continually adjust table feed rate to maintain a specified blade RPM. Blade RPM slows as denser material is encountered therefore table feed rate must compensate to maintain specific blade RPM. User interface: User clamps material to be cut onto table, operates machine using the following five momentary push buttons. Emergency stop - Stops all motion. Jog forward and reverse - allows user to position table at a fast rate in either direction. Blade start - Starts blade rotation. Feed start - begins cutting operation. Additional hardware interfaces Limit switches - senses end of table travel in either direction. LCD display - used for diagnostics and adjustments only. May not be used in final version. Hall effect sensor - used to sense blade RPM. Safety switch - Disables all motion when machine lid is raised. Pulsed output from micro-controller for stepper motor that moves table. Hardware: Programming code needs to be in "C" and we are working with CodevisionAVR V1.25.7a standard as our programmer out of Windows XP. The Microprocessor we are using is an Atmeta 128 on a Futurlec board. Varying table feed rate - as blade speed decreases, table speed decreases. The reverse is true if blade speed increases. Blade RPM may not vary a great deal therefore RPM sensing portion of the program will need to be real time and accurate. See attached file for additional details. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday Nov 27, 2007 3:03:24 PM: Below are web site links to the hardware components and boards that we have chosen for this project. We can supply one Atmega128 controller board with parallel interface for testing of code. Once we have decided on which coder we will be using, we will provide greater detail about how these are connected. Due to nature of this project we will not need any feedback from the table, we will only need to change the table feed rate based upon the rpm variation of the cutting blade, since that will determine the feed rate of the table. The LCD display is a character type and will not be used in the final version of this product, it will only be used in the development phase to indicate the RPM of the cutting blade and an indication of increase or decrease of table feed rate. <[login to view URL]> <[login to view URL]> <[login to view URL]> <[login to view URL]> 20 x 4 character LCD <[login to view URL]> KL 4030 Microstepping driver <[login to view URL]> A-100-24 power supply This is the first time we have used Rent-A-Coder and it looks like our bidding is closing, however, we are still interested in moving forward with this project. The holidays have slowed our progress a bit this last week or so. Hopefully the above information will answer the questions that some potential bidders had so that they may complete the bidding process. Once we have bids from a few more people that have shown interest in bidding we will contact our client and select a coder. ## Platform Programming code needs to be in "C" and we are working with CodevisionAVR V1.25.7a standard as our programmer out of Windows XP. The Microprocessor we are using is an Atmeta 128 on a Futurlec board. Requests/requirements: Needs to be programmed in Codevision C. We will need well commented source code. Program parameters (speeds, etc) will need to be easily modified. Please contact us with any question or comments you may have
