PROBLEM: I have a classic-ASP page that uses vbscript to launch a program on the server. The program is called unzip.exe. This program is used to unzip a file on the server.
The program can be launched on a server that has Windows Server 2003 and Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) installed on the computer. The program CAN NOT be launched if I install Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) on the server. The ASP page gets a "permission denied" error when IE7 is installed on the server.
The program can be launched if I unistall IE7.
REQUIRED SOLUTION: Find out why the installation of IE7 is causing this problem. Find a way to launch the program when IE7 is installed. The solution can be a configuration setting on the server OR can be new ASP code that will launch the program.
I have included a sample ASP page ([login to view URL]) that will let you see the problem on your server.
