Looking for an experienced iOS developer freelancer to fulfill my project. It should be a very simple app:
This is an educational app, presenting solutions of past exam papers - that's its sole purpose! There is no interactive content apart from the tip button - see below.
The app structure:
-On entering, the user is presented with a simple menu: choose a subject. Currently, this is just maths - mathematics.
-After selecting the subject, another menu pops up, with just two options, higher or lower level. These two menus should preferably be in the shapes of large rounded rectangles - as there is so little choice.
-Then another menu appears, giving the user the choice of years (2005-2016). Warning, I need some years to be locked and to be paid for - whereas the app is free on itself. I.e., this is (an) in-app purchase.
-After that, and purchase if paid for, the questions menu appears - questions 1-10.
-Finally, after selecting the appropriate question, the user is presented with the content - this will be of mathematical nature, and I will write this in Latex. It's your choice as a freelancer / developer whether you want the format changed to pdf, or not, or any other suggestions are welcome.
-On the content page, there needs to be the following buttons:
-Back, bringing the user back to question choice (actually this needs to be in all menus).
-Next and Previous questions (if applicable).
-A tip button, on pressing which the background will blur and the tip will pop up, which you can exit by pressing anywhere on the screen. This should be placed somewhere in the content, wherever it is logical to place that tip.
That's it! It can be written in Swift or Objective C. I also need to be able to add the content myself (extra menu items, for example, year, subject, and new content files). This is mandatory.
The design of the app needs to be clean and minimalistic, with main focus on content.
I don't need a login - unless you think it's absolutely necessary and back up your arguments. However, to avoid too much weight of the app, you might consider storing the paid content on the server, and pull it to the device if the user purchases it.
Need it for iPhone 5+.

Surely, 90-95% of the projects requires to store data in web server, which we connect using custom made API / web services. You could check our portfolio here.

We will develop a web admin area for you where you could manage these entries.
5. How will you go about storing the data on the server?
We will write web service, as REST-full JSON, for communicating with the server, after setting the server. For production time we could use our server as staging server. That too for free.
6. How will you incorporate them maths (Latex) content in the app?
You could upload images, add textual data.
7. What kind of design will you provide for the app?
We will design a UI for you as your plans.

I'm a hobbyist iOS developer, developed multiple iOS applications during course projects and working on a big project nowadays...
I personally prefer cloud servers. Worked on an instagram-style app with backend as Parse. It is quite easy to use even for non-programmers, (Your question no. 4 is also answered here: With a small database on cloud backend service, you can add more content online without any interaction with code) Parse is gonna be over in few months, but their are dozens of other resources available.
Other than cloud backend, you can have direct control of the app through a special 'Admin' login.... I've a question here: What do you EXACTLY mean by more content ? Do you want to add new content of the same type or introduce new TYPES all by yourself ?
As far as storing data is concerned, a small database will help. Morever, most of the data can be (and should be) stored locally.
Math content would be added in pdf or any such format. Or we can design custom content views, but since app doesn't require this much interaction on this page etc. it's probably a bad idea.
A simple, user-friendly design will be used and most importantly, minimum no. of screens is a must.

I already built that type of app in ios. Through web Apis for posting data back to server. You can add matrrial through mobile app or another option is CMS that is web for admin. It will be more efficient. And also you can add compitions of MCQs for students. Thanks.
