basic android app - no design involved just functionality of app

I need an app that stores the user general location and then allows them to choose from a selection of four sports. Using some matching algorithm I want the app to match with people with the same sports in the same general location. Once you have matched ye are allowed to chat with each other using gcm maybe or another online messenger. This will just functionality I can design it myself and I will be able to put in the authentication etc.
