Project Description

Your task it to succeed and outline the steps to get Xvfb running on a CentOS 6.7 64bit server with Glibc [url removed, login to view] (grab a VMWare image of CentOS 6.7 from [url removed, login to view] - [url removed, login to view]), no package manager (i.e. no yum), no Xserver and no root access. All libraries, binaries and config files should be relative to ~/ (examples: ~/tmp, ~/lib64, ~/bin, etc).

You will probably need two servers - install the packages on a normal CentOS 64bit server as root, then copy the libraries and binaries to another CentOS server (VMWare again for ease) which you log in as a limited user other than root. On the target server you will not have yum and not have Xorg. How you get the files on the server is not critical (I will use a web file manager). You can use tarballs of course. This link may help you get started thinking about transferring over the shared libraries. No symlinks please. - [url removed, login to view]

The ultimate goal is to get SlimerJS to work on a shared host with SSH access and no X server at all.
