Design, Implement, Test and Document a Hybrid Intrusion Detection & Prevention System

As part of my dissertation, i need to implement a 'Hybrid Intrusion Detection and Prevention System'. 1. An Hybrid IDPS system - Both Anomaly and Signature based using SNORT 2. Should have techniques to prevent attacks (dropping packets...) 3. Test by launching attacks against systems, using DARPA data sets present results in graphs your input is very much welcome
