I currently work on a couple of sports trading software applications for a client. I'm moving away from freelancing altogether and need to hand these projects on to someone else - there's definately scope for this to be your only client as there's a huge amount of work required and the client is keen to speed up development. I've written the applications using Java (Play! Framework applications) on the backend and javascript on the front end but there's no reason you couldn't build anything in future in whatever you wanted the client isn't bothered about platforms or technologies - he just wants results. The applications just implement trading strategies against Betfair and Betdaq APIs as well as some other bookmakers who expose programmatic APIs - it's complex and difficult work and there's a huge amount of the client's money involved so it's important you have experience working with these kinds of APIs and know exactly what you're doing. You need to understand how to work with multi-threaded Java applications (preferably using AKKA) and have some knowledge of Linux (ubuntu) - linux knowledge doesn't have to be too in-depth but you need to know how to navigate around - install using apt etc. etc. more details on request

In FAD (the Find a Developer portal at [login to view URL]) I had highest rating but they closed the portal... For the last 5 years I was permanently extending two big Betfair API related project and was working on them on monthly basis. I have also implemented odds scrapers, arbitrage logic (comparing back at bookie to lay at betfair) and automatic bet placers for 10+ bookmakers like Will Hill, Bet365, LadBrokes, SBOBet, IBCBet, BetFred and many more. I was also working with the owners of the bookmaker SJOdds (Asian Bookie).. In fact I know all tricks and details in the arbitrage and online betting area (reoffered bets, IP routing etc...) and am sure that am the developer that you need. Hello, so far I have not been doing any betthis or betthat jobs, but I did a number of SOAP, JSON and other RPCs. I see their APIs are quite complex with biz logic, but I'm confident I can manage - provided I have your code to learn from. I see both have old and new API, you probably implemented old ones, and I will need to implement new? I'm at home with java multithreading, but I didn't do any AKKA yet. Anyway, I like it, thanks for bringing it to my attention:) And again, I have zero experience with Scala, but I'm looking forward to it, since it's waaay better than Java. With linux I'm quite familliar, not so much with ubuntu, but I have working knowledge. So, it's a lot of new stuff for me. That said, in my experience, I need 3 weeks to pick up an entirelly new project and produce first usable results - provided I have guidance, at least via daily responses to my emails. If you'll be around for 3 weeks, I'm your man.
