we need someone to write and application in vc++ or vb.
the details will be provided to the right candidate.
dialog based application
with four tabs:
first tab: login
the login details will be stored in the registry. when the user logs in the details will be authenticated against the registry. each application when downloaded will come with a config file with the username and password in it.
second tab: find printers in network and allow user to select printer and test print.
third tab: download files from a webserver and store in a local directory in the machine. display the files downloaded in a list control allowing user to delete the files.
fourth tab:show the contents of the last file and print it.
there will be a timer in the app that will ping webserver every two minutes requesting for a file.
when the last file is downloaded it is auto printed.
the printing will be done silently with no popup dialog showing up asking the user to choose the printer.
must work in windows xp, windows 7 and windows 8.

we want to develop the application using java only so that the application works in android tablets and windows based tablets or any other suitable language that allows the application to work in tablets and in windows desktops.
secondly the printing is to a usb/serial printer.
