Hi there, I came across your proposal and had an interesting idea for you. Rather than building a site from scratch it would be a great idea to use the Squarespace platform for your site to save you on setup and ongoing maintenance costs. Some advantages of doing this would be: - A low cost for setup that includes 1 year of hosting - Ongoing hosting would be $10 / month from Squarespace directly - Your website would be mobile responsive on all devices (iPhone, Android, etc ..) and all browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome) - You would choose from custom templates that are already being used that are professionally designed - These custom templates are search engine optimized (SEO) so Google can easily parse the content for you I'm not a squarespace employee or promoting them in any way, it just struck me that since your requirements are quite minimal, we could build something very simple that will be low cost to you! Other pitches will likely involve a full website development, which is harmful for two reasons. 1. The cost which will be much higher 2. You may not have full control over your site context (colors, text) which means you will have to continue going to them for help when you need things changed. 3. There will be ongoing charges for fixes and maintenance. With squarespace, you're paying for ongoing support included in hosting.
