Design a logo for a motorcycle riding group

I am in need of a logo to be used on embroidered patches, tshirts, motorcycle clothing etc. Primary use will be for embroidered patches from shoulder patch size to full back size for vests and jackets. design should use a dragon and the number 44. Background of patch will be black using primary colors of orange, yellows and reds is preferred. Style should be bad ass and not cartoonish. one idea I had was a shield with the 44 in the center and filling the shield and the dragon wrapped round and behind the shield with his head appearing above the top point of the shield and his front claws grabbing the shield and into the top outside points and into 44, tail then wrapping around the bottom point of the shield.
