Greetings, Since you are looking for an Analog Design - this would require an active BPF followed by a squarer/multiplier to give you the desired power in the frequency band of interest. Also the break out board you mentioned is a much simpler version which just gives the analog out - this is much more involved and requires thorough design and simulations which then needs to be carefully translated to a working PCB. Revised DEC 12 So, you want an analog output, fixed for the range 50 ~ 85 kHz. We can do this very precisely with an active bandpass filter followed by an ingtegrating amplifier that rectifies the signal and outputs the result to you. Less accurate solution can be achieved with passive filter instead of active one. I have changed the time and cost to reflect the simpler version. I will assume you will provide necessary voltages. If this is for a portable device, then willl you be requiring battery charging and management? The design will likely require a microprocessor to perform FFT on the signal and also fast/high resolution ADC signal handling, or a digital PDM version. For your project I will use: -A small FPGA for calculating FFT of input signal and hence estimating frequency. -xilinx ISE tool and modelsim to do coding and simulation. -orcad to do schematic entry and pcb design.
