Appropriate Use of Linear Mixed Model with Time-varying Covariate
RM32-99 MYR
Paid on delivery
I have a group of subjects on supplement A for 3 years. Their blood pressure (BP) and body weight (WGT) were monitored at 1-, 2- and 3-year. In unadjusted models, BP and WGT reduced significantly over time. However, it has been well recognized that lower WGT is associated with lower BP.
I would like to know the improvement of BP is directly due to Supplement A, or indirectly due to Supplement A lowering the WGT thereby lowering the BP.
Is it appropriate to use LMM with time-varying covariate for such analysis? (BP as DV; WGT as covariate)
Task:
I need to know whether my usage of Linear Mixed Model is appropriate.
If it is YES, you just have to clarify the result of Type III Fixed Effect of multivariate model.
If it is NO, I need you to advise on the best analytical method (preferably in a single model) to achieve the goal.
Thank you.
